Business Logo
My business has been building over the last year. I've busted my butt after suffering a major injury. Alot of you know that I was working my dream job at Great Wolf Lodge in the bakery. A friend of mine was the manager of the bakery at the time & got me on there & I loved it. Unfortunately, I ended up having bulging discs & very bad arthritis in my knees. I didn't have the best shoes as I had worn them down in school & there were no safety mats at work. I loved my job but I had no idea when I was going to be able to come back, so I had to put in my 2 weeks notice. I was on strict bed rest for months, 4 months to be exact & perscribed heavy medications that made me feel like a zombie. It took weeks of rehab to get up & ambulatory. Now a year has gone by, I'm building my business to what I'm wanting it to be. While I loved working at the Hotel & miss the friendships that just began, I do love that I can work from home. This last year has allowed me to meet someof the most amazing people in the industry.
Trinity Wood owns Sweet Sensations-Wedding and Special Occasion Cakes & is located in Russellville Arkansas & we soon became such wonderful friends. I love her so much & I feel that she is one of those people that truely understand me. She work is simply perfect & now teaches! Julie Rosfeld of West Alexandria, Ohio has become a wonderful friend to me as well. Sarah Meyers who owns Bon Gateaux, former owner of Let Tem Eat Cake in Waverly, Ohio is an angel sent down from heaven for many reasons for many people I've decided. Kasey Amanda Smith of Kakes by Klassic is my homegirl & I love Kasey so much. She's so very much like me! We are women scattered all over the US who are honestly KIND PEOPLE! Now I'm a huge fan of all of their work & today talked to Elizabeth Marek of Artisan Cake Company. We converse in some of the same circles & I wanted to let her know how much I loved her recipe for fondant. A little later I posted a picture of my business logo that someone had created for me. Elizabeth took it & made it into what I'd been dreaming of for years!
As soon as she emailed it to me, I started to sob & shake a tiny bit. One might think I was proposed to, but I wouldn't have cried if that happens ;-) Elizabeth took time from her day, her husbands time as well & created something that I never that I'd have. No one ever saw what I did until she saw what I was talking about & turned it into my dream. I honestly love this woman, for being so giving to me. It's time to take a long look & see what I can freely give to others. As Anne Frank said, no one became broke by giving. I believe that is the truth. Again, I am blessed to have not just these women in my life, but this amazing caliber of women in my lfe. Thank you.
